“The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful

form of medicine, or the slowest form of poison.”

- Ann Wigmore

Functional nutrition is the holistic approach to diet. It is knowing that everything you put in your body will affect the way you feel and think. It is taking care of yourself by avoiding the foods that cause distress and consuming the foods that nourish and heal. The right way to eat can look different for every person. It can be tricky to figure out what is best for you to eat because there is conflicting information about what is healthy and it can be hard to decipher what will be the best for your own body.

At Functional Health Center, Dr. Jared Allomong will help patients figure this out through a variety of ways.  Again,  each person is unique, so the approach to figuring this out can be different. Dr. Allomong may use applied kinesiology, food sensitivity testing, GI panels or health symptoms to give a direction for how to begin your food health journey.

While digestive discomfort is an obvious symptom that you are eating something you shouldn't, many other symptoms can stem from unhealthy gut biome and food sensitives. These symptoms are brain fog, eczema and other skin conditions, migraines, bloating, elimination irregularities, achy joints or muscles, mouth sores (including cold sores, geographic tongue, tongue discomfort, canker sores) and chronic congestion.
