Meet Melissa Volz, LPC

Melissa Volz

We have little understanding of the deep rooted cause, which is why we feel lost. In order for lasting change to take place, in addition to healing, we have to address what happens in the brain and body while addressing our emotions.

Combining her innovative teaching over her 10 years experience in private practice, along with her masters degree training in Transpersonal Counseling in Psychology, Melissa is transforming the way people think about emotional wellness and what it means to live their best lives.  Melissa challenges conventional thinking that says life includes suffering, and guides people to find the underlying cause that keeps getting re-triggered, causing unnecessary pain and struggle.   Through the use of NET (Neuro Emotional Technique), Melissa is redefining relationship with the mind, body and spirit, moving away from simply surviving to powerfully thriving.

Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor, earning her degree from Naropa University.  She earned a Masters Degree in Counseling with an emphasis on Transpersonal Counseling in Psychology. She holds certifications in these specific clinical techniques including Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), Gestalt Therapy from The Gestalt Institute of the Rockies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EPIC certification in Motivational Interviewing, and Certified Parenting Coach from the Jai institute of Parent Coaching. Melissa trained extensively with world renowned speaker, author, parenting expert, and psychologist Dr. Shefali Tsabary. Melissa also has extensive experience working in the field of addictions therapy as well as working with clients in the criminal justice system struggling with substance abuse/addiction and trauma-related issues.

My approach to emotional wellness is extremely unique. Talking about stressors can be limiting because it relies on the mind to try to resolve issues that are unconscious to us.  How can we talk our way through something we are unconscious about? We have little understanding of the deep rooted cause, which is why we feel lost. In order for lasting change to take place, in addition to healing, we have to address what happens in the brain and body while addressing our emotions.  There is a combination that happens where the mind and body work together.  So when you have a physical illness there is an emotional component and when you're facing emotional stress like depression or anxiety there is a physical component.  Both need to be addressed or the body can get re-triggered over and over again.   My unique therapeutic approach addresses both; releasing the brain pattern that continues to re-traumatize the brain and body, as well as effecting relationships and overall happiness.
